Summary:  Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (ECMHC) is grounded in relationships, and all relationships experience moments of misunderstanding, disconnection, and rupture. These moments can be particularly complex when issues of race, culture, identity, bias, power, and systemic inequities are present. While rupture is an inevitable part of authentic relationship-building, the ability to recognize and engage in meaningful repair is essential to equitable and effective consultation practice.

This interactive session invites early childhood mental health consultants to explore rupture and repair through a DEIB-informed lens. Participants will examine how implicit bias, and power dynamics can influence consultation relationships with consultees. Through reflective dialogue, case examples, and experiential activities, participants will deepen their understanding of how ruptures emerge and practice strategies for repair.

Space is limited.

CEU availability: Gateway, Early Intervention and Clinical CEUs will be given to attendees.

ILAIMH thanks the YWCA for providing the space for our in-person seminar.
